Hiding and visualizing inserted objects in folding sequence steps

You can choose whether to see inserted objects in steps or phases in folding sequences. This is useful for making the 3D presentation less cluttered. When positioned into a folding sequence, an inserted object is visible by default. You can hide it to unclutter a 3D step when the inserted object is not immediately important for the tasks at hand.

Setting the visibility of an inserted part

  1. After you have taken the inserted part into the 3D area and have positioned it where you need it, right-click the inserted object, and then click Properties.

The Folding Part Properties dialog box appears.

  1. To hide the inserted object in the current step, leave the Part initial visibility check box empty.

Showing a hidden part

Because a hidden inserted object cannot be seen in the work area, it can be selected only in the tabular area.

  1. In a step in which an inserted object has been hidden, in the tabular area, in the Drawing locate the part that you need.

The inserted parts are indicated as to whether they are hidden or visible in the step.

  1. In the Drawing column, double-click the inserted object.
  2. In the Folding Part Properties dialog box that appears, select the Part initial visibility check box.
