Folding sequence presentation and production phase

This video displays the definition of life-cycle phases in a folding sequence and generation of production phase. The procedure follows a case in which you can determine how the design should fold during production and usage phases, respectively.

PROCEDURAL STEPS

  1. Open EngView resizable design EVF11201 Regular Tuck Lock - Crash Lock.evr.
  1. To create a new 3D drawing, on the 3D Presenter toolbar, click New 3D Presenter Drawing .

NOTE: By default, each 3D drawing that comes with two predefined phases: Initial State and Usage. The former is the default state of the design, which corresponds to the design's 2-D state after it has been cut; the latter is an editable phase in which all panels are folded at 90 degrees until the design is fully folded.

  1. (Optional) Rearrange the reference orientation by changing the base panel of the 3D model: On the 3D Presenter toolbar, click Set Base Panel , and then click the panel that you want to be the base.
  2. On the 3D Presenter toolbar, click Production Phase .
  3. In the Production Phase Generation Wizard dialog box that appears, in the folding type list, click Type 03, and then click OK.
  4. In the X Dimensioning step, click the vertical lines to which you want to set folding, and then click OK.
  5. In the Y Dimensioning step, click the horizontal lines to which you want to set folding, and then click OK.
  6. In the Box Preview step, review the folding lines for the design, and then click OK.

NOTE: If you want to revise some of the folding lines, return along the wizard by using the Back buttons.

  1. (Optional) Use the folding navigation panel to play back the set folding.
  2. In the tabular area, click the Usage phase, and change the value of panel 4 to 0 degrees.
  3. Repeat Step 10, changing the value of panel 14 to 0 degrees.
  4. In the tabular area, click the Usage phase, and then right-click Step 1. Click Insert step below on the context menu.
  5. Click Step 1 to open it, and then drag panels 7 and 8 to Step 2.
  6. Right-click Step 2, and then click Insert step below on the context menu.
  7. Click Step 1 to open it, and then drag panels 10 and 11 to Step 3.
