PROCEDURAL STEPS

  1. Open a 1up that you want to place an image on.
  2. Export the 1up design as a EPS file: On the File menu, click Export, and then in the dialog box that appears, select the Export current drawing check box.

You can export design also as a PDF file (On the File menu, click Export; in the Files of Type list select Portable Network Format (*.pdf), and then select the Export current drawing check box). Follow procedural steps 5, 6, 7 and 8 — that is, launch a graphic image editing tool and process the PDF as you want (for example, use Adobe Illustrator and place a proportional, background image for your design drawing); at Step 8 save the file as a PDF file.

NOTE: Steps 5–8 are skipped in the video presentation.

  1. Launch an image-editing tool.
  2. Open the exported EPS file.
  3. Create an image in proportion to the 1up design.
  1. Save the image as a JPEG file.
  1. In Package Designer, import the image and place it over the 1up drawing: On the Objects toolbar, click Quick Image .

Import with Graphical Image Embedding Functionality: If you have elected to export the design as a PDF file, at this stage, import the just processed PDF file and save it. (On the File menu, click Import, in the Import dialog box that appears select the file, and then click OK.)

NOTE: During image import, the image is placed into the design's center, instead of in the lower left vertex of the design's bounding rectangle.
