Importing CFF/DDES files

How to import files

You can import .cff and .ddes files:

• By double-clicking them.
• By dragging them into EngView.
• By using the import procedure that follows.

Applying style associations filters

When importing a file, you can choose the styles that you want EngView to apply to the objects in the imported drawing. You can have EngView apply the default set of style associations assigned for the .pdf file format or apply a different set of associations. Here, the import technique matters:

• To use the default style associations, use either the double-click or the dragging technique.
• To use a different set of associations, use the procedure that follows. In it, in Steps 4 and 6 select the style associations filter that you need.

To import .cff, .ddes files

1. On the File menu, click Import.

The Import File dialog box appears at the Import File step.

NOTE: In the Import dialog box, you can import a file also from Project Organizer. It needs to be part of your installation.

2. In Look in, browse to a location, and then select the file you want to import.
3. In Style Associations Filter, select the association scheme that you need.
4. In Layout side, select the side of the design that you want to be facing you after the import.

NOTE: EngView keeps track of your choices and defaults to your last selection.

5. Click Next.

The dialog box switches to the Import CFF/DDES step.

6. In the Layers area, select the layers that you want to import into the project.
7. In Style Associations Filter, select the association scheme that you need.
8. In Use existing oneups, select t.
9. In Layout side, select the side of the design that you want to be facing you after the import.
10. Click Next.
11. To complete the import, click Finish.
