Applying style associations filters

When importing a file, you can choose the styles that you want EngView to apply to the objects in the imported drawing. You can have EngView apply the default set of style associations assigned for the .dxf/.dwg file format or apply a different set of associations. Here, the import technique matters:

To import .wmf, .eps files

  1. On the File menu, click Import.

The Import File dialog box appears at the Import File step.

NOTE: You can import a file also from Project Organizer. It needs to be part of your installation.

  1. In Look in, browse to a location, and then select the file you want to import.
  2. In Style Associations Filter, select the association scheme that you need.
  3. In Layout side, select the side of the design that you want to be facing you after the import.
  4. Click Next.

The Import DXF/DWG step appears.

  1. In the Layers area, select the layers that you want to import into the project.
  2. Import blocks/layers. To import:
    • Them into a single drawing, select the Import Layers in One Drawing check box.
    • Each block/layer into its own drawing, select the Insert Blocks as Parts check box.
  3. TIP: To import the blocks/layers into a single drawing and simultaneously as separate drawings, select both the Insert Blocks as Parts and Import Layers in One Drawing check boxes.

  4. In Style Associations Filter, select the association scheme that you need.
  5. To choose the units in which the import will be carried out, in Import units select the units that you need.
  6. (Optional) Manage associations filters:
  7. To complete the import, click Finish.
