This topic takes you through the steps to follow to set up the integration between EngView and Hybrid Software's PACKZ software for editing labels and packaging. It takes you step by step through the EngView side of the integration, specifically:
The topic does not cover the PACKZ side of the integration.
Before you begin, you need to set up the PACKZ/EngView integration. This takes places in EngView.
The Log In With EngView dialog box appears.
NOTE: If you do not have an account, write to support@engview.com to request one.
When you have logged in, your account name and the integration's URL appear in User and URL, respectively.
A message appears prompting you to restart EngView for the integration to take effect.
In the upper left corner of the tools panel, you can now see the integration's button. Note that it will not be available for use until you have started working on a project and saved it.
You can now start using the integration. Read on to learn how.
top of pageYou can create multiple layouts. If your project has multiple 1up drawings, you can create layouts from each drawing you plan to work with in PACKZ.
NOTE: When you have saved the project,
the Upload to PACKZ integration button becomes avaialble . This means that now you can send the design to the
integration's jobs queue.
The Submit to PACKZ Job Queue dialog box appears. Check the table below to learn what each field means.
View Jobs | Opens the jobs queue, where you see the full of list of the jobs uploaded so far. Learn more about how to work with the queue. |
---|---|
Project Name | The name of the current project |
Sent On | (Read-only) The date and time when the job was submitted to the queue |
Customer | The project's end customer. You can select a customer from the drop-down list, or use the Plus button to create a customer. |
Email (ID) | The email ID for the customer. This is the ID that the customer will use to log on to the integration. |
Contact | The contact person representing the customer |
If the project was uploaded to the job queue at an earlier moment, a dialog box appears.
NOTE: The options listed here reflect the fact that you can create multiple jobs from the same design. When a job is uploaded, EngView keeps a record of the underlying design. Then, each time a new job is uploaded that is created from the same design, EngView asks you whether to update the existing job or create a new job under a new name.
The dialog box disappears. The job is now in the queue and you can use PACKZ to open it.
top of pageThe jobs queue lists all the jobs uploaded and waiting to be processed in PACKZ. In the queue, you can check jobs and delete the ones that will not be needed.
To open the jobs queue
The Submit to PACKZ Job Queue dialog box appears.
The Submit to PACKZ dialog box opens displaying the jobs queue.
In the dialog box, you can:
Because multiple jobs can be created from the same design, the (*) symbol in front of a job's name indicates that this is the most recent job created and uploaded from a particular design.
