Exporting 3D files to PDF

Export PDF Dialog Box

Logo Loads an image to serve as a logo in the PDF file. Use the browse button to navigate to a directory from which to select your own logo file.

IMPORTANT: Logos appear best if their width-to-height ratio is 3:1 and their size is no less than 6 cm to 2 cm. If the PDF document is meant for printing, the recommended image quality for logos is 300 DPI or higher.

File name Click the browse button and select the directory into which you want to save the exported file.
 
Phases Phases of the 3D drawing that will be included in the upload, as well as at which phase the file will open.
Animation
  • First The animated sequence begins from the phase set here.
  • Last The animated sequence ends with the phase set here.
  • Initial Sets the phase that the 3D model starts with.

    IMPORTANT: The phase starts at the selected phase's end state. That is, if you want the animation to start at the beginning of a phase, in Initial select the name of the previous phase: its end state coincides with the initial state of the phase you need. --End-- indicates the end state of the phase set in Last.

Still Scene The exported file displays a still scene of the folding sequence as selected in the Initial phase.
 
Settings General elements of how the exported file will look, including logo placement, animations, and image textures, as well as the grade of quality of the applied artwork, the textures in the exported file, as well as the used logo and whether to use a folding loop.
Artwork quality Set the quality in which you want EngView to export images.

TIP: You can set a quality size of up to 16k, but before setting a size, make sure that the video adapter that will be displaying the exported file supports this quality size.

PDF Template Sets the spatial positioning of the design in the exported file. The options are:
  • Landscape. Has landscape view with the EngView logo. (Logo is unavailable.)
  • LansdcapeLogo. Has landscape view with a custom logo that you load in Logo.)
  • LansdcapeNoLogo. Has landscape view without any logo.
  • Portrait. Has portrait view with the EngView logo. (Logo is unavailable.)
  • PortraitLogo. Has portrait with a custom logo that you load in Logo.
  • PortraitNoLogo. Has portrait view without any logo.
Hyperlink URL (Optional) Type the full URL (including the protocol part: http:\\; https:\\; ftp:\\ or other) of a website that you want to associate with the logo. When in the exported filе, you click the logo, your default web browser will open the website.
Hyperlink tooltip (Optional) Type a text that will serve as a hint when the mouse pointer is placed over the logo.
Nonstop fold-unfold Makes the 3D drawing fold and unfold without stopping.

NOTE: This functionality applies to the phases you set for From and To in the Export dialog box.

Generate thumbnail Makes a thumbnail view of the exported file.
Export measure lines Select the check box to export the measure lines added to the 3D drawing.

IMPORTANT: When the check box is selected, the measure lines are exported regardless if you have elected to hide them in the 3D work area.

View file after generation Select the check box if you want to view the file has been generated.
Enable panel click animations When the check box is selected (the default state), in the exported 3D model you can animate individual panels by double-clicking them. Leave the check box empty to prevent this animation.
 
Background Loads a file or a color that serves as the background against which the 3D model will appear in the 3D area.
Solid color Sets the color on which the 3D model will appear in the exported file.
Image Sets the image file that will serve as background for the 3D model appears.

NOTE: Make sure you place your background images in the dedicated directory: C:\EngViewWork8\Settings\MaterialResources\EnvImages\BackDrop
