Aligning manually (Position alignment)
By using manual (position) alignment, in the
CAM drawing you can position:
- The design manually relative to the coordinate system of the samplemaking
machine.
- The coordinate system.
To use manual (position) alignment
- To turn on manual alignment, do any of the following:
- On the , click Position Alignment
.
- On the Tools menu, point to CAM, and then click Position
Alignment.
- To define an anchor point for the offset, click a point of the
design.
A contextual edit bar appears above the graphical
area, containing options for the definition of the absolute offset coordinates,
X and Y. At the moment of the first click, the X and Y fields will show
the absolute coordinates
of the point you clicked.
- Do any of the following:
- In the contextual edit bar, enter the absolute offset coordinates
for the new position.
- Drag the selected point to where you want it to be. You will thus
define the offset distance between the two points.
- (Optional) Click any of the coordinate axes, and then repeat Steps
2 and 3.
Notes
- In the drawing, the X and Y offset coordinates
are absolute.
- When you drag the drawing close to a coordinate
axis, it is snapped to the axis. When you drag a start or an end point
close to a coordinate axis or to an object from the drawing, the point
is snapped there, too.
- You can drag manually the start and end points
— they are displayed as green
and blue
dots, respectively. By default, they are positioned
at the origin of the coordinate system.
