Line style convention example: Placing dies bolt holes

The line style convention can be applied in the use of custom components on the stripping die. By default, the installation of EngView comes with a set of components: An example here are the dies bolt holes, which are openings on both stripping dies in which bolts are screwed for fastening the dies during transportation or storage.

To place custom stripping elements to a stripping die

  1. After the male and the female stripping dies have been created, click the female stripping die drawing.
  2. On the Diemaking tab, click Place Strip Clip Component .

A contextual edit bar appears above the graphical area.

Custom Components Toolbar
  1. On the contextual edit bar, in the Components dropdown list, select the component that you want to place in the stripping die. For fine-tuning the placement of the component, you can use the mirror buttons (for .evb components also the angle of rotation). Since this is a parameterized component, its parameters appear in the cotextual edit bar and their values can be changed directly.
  2. In the female stripping die, position the component where you need it.

  1. To verify the dies bolt holes transfer to the male stripping die, create a CAM drawing. In it, the Dies Bolt Holes appear in the male stripping die, having been transferred from the female die on the strength of the style rules applied.
