Creating base components
About base components
A base component (base) is the foundation to which you attach single
and/or compound components when:
- Assembling resizable templates (.evr files).
- Creating production-ready structures (.evd file).
Design tools
The design
tools that are used to create and modify a single component include geometric objects,
transformations, relations,
dimensions, parameters
and the Solver.
Control points
Base components have
no control points.
To start creating a base component
- Do any of the following:
- On the File menu, point to New Parametric Component, and
then click Base Component.
- On the tools panel, click New project
, and drag down until you see a list of components.

- Click Base Component.
An empty drawing appears in which you will be
drawing the base.

Changes
in the interface
Notice that the user interface's icon are now
red.
- Begin drawing
the base component, setting the necessary geometric relations between
the component's objects, dimensions and parameters.
- Check if the structure is well-constrained.
- Make the parameters Global.
- When you are done, save the base (.evb file)
in the Synergy Components folder.
