The parameters in the Main group are common for all FEFCO reseizable designs in the library. Moreover, they are predefined and accessible in the Corrugated parameter template.
Name: | Description: | Used in/Using parameters: | Default expression (mm): |
L |
Defines the real
length of the box, depending on
the dimension type ( DT ). However,
the actual length of the base in the drawing is calculated by taking into
account not only L, but also DT and FD,
and is measured through the Lss and Lss1 parameters.
L is only used in the expressions of the actual score-to-score length parameters Lss and Lss1. This means that changing the expression of L will change the length (Lss and Lss1) of the current resizable design, too. To change the expression of L, click in the Expression column field of L in the Parameters tabular pane tab and enter a new expression value. |
Used In: W (Main) Lss (Score-to-Score) |
280 |
W |
Defines the real
width of the box, depending on the dimension type ( DT
). Just like L,
the actual width of the base, in the drawing, is calculated by taking
into account W, DT
and FD, but it is measured through
both Wss and Wss1
parameters. The difference between Wss
and Wss1 stems from the fact that
Wss1 takes into account only one
folding. W is used directly in
the expressions of the score-to-score width parameters Wss
and Wss1.
W is only used in the expressions of the actual score-to-score length parameters Wss and Wss1. This means that changing the expression of W will change the width (Wss and Wss1) of the current resizable design, too. To change the expression of W, click in the Expression column field of W in the Parameters tabular pane tab and enter a new expression value. |
Used In: Wss (Score-to-Score) FH1 (Flaps) Using: L (Main) |
200 |
H |
Defines the real
height of the box, depending on
the dimension type ( DT ). However,
just like the L and W,
the actual height of the base in the drawing is calculated by taking into
account not only H, but also DT and FD,
and is measured through the Hss
parameter.
To change the expression of H, click in the Expression column field of H in the Parameters tabular pane tab and enter a new expression value. |
Used In: HssX, HssY (Score-to-Score) |
70 |
DT |
Defines the dimension type: inner (dtID = -1), outer (dtOD
= 1) or score-to-score (dtSS =
0). Since the material ( board ) of corrugated boxes is by industry standards
significantly thicker ( e.g. d=7 mm ) than folding carton boxes material
( most commonly d=0.5 mm ), there occur considerable differences between
the "interior" dimensions of the closed FEFCO box and the "exterior"
ones. This happens because creasing and double-creasing add to the outside
volume of the box. Therefore, you can choose among 3
dimension types to calculate the design, depending on which box size you
are interested in: the 'inside'
of the box (e.g. when your primary concern is the article that the box
is designed for), the outside
of the box ( e.g. when you are interested in the outer limits of the box
so that you can fit a number of such boxes into a bigger container), or
the score to score size (e.g.
the in-between dimension type where the system calculates the design without
taking into account the value of d;
for instance, the real box length parameter Lss
has the expression L+2*C90 - i.e.
the length parameter L value plus
twice the value of the correction parameter C90
which is equal to 0.00 when DT=dtSS,
a positive number when DT=dtID,
and a negative number when DT=dtOD).
DT is a selection parameter - it uses the selection entries of the DimTypes selection type, predefined in the Corrugated parameter template. The 3 predefined entries are as follows:
To change the expression of DT, click in the Expression column field of DT in the Parameters tabular pane tab and select the desired option from the list. |
Used In: C90X, C90Y (Corrections) Llc, Wlc, Hlc (Layers) |
dtID |
UL |
Defines whether to use layers (relative
to the number and the type of the flaps). If you imagine, that in the
current design, each two opposite side flaps form a layer, then the other
two opposite ones form another layer that overlaps the first one. Therefore,
if the number of layers is n,
you have to apply 'n-1' corrections
to the sides adjoining the respective flaps (layers). Of course, the Layers parameters take into
account all these corrections.
UL is a selection type parameter - it uses Boolean selection type, predefined in the Corrugated parameter template. The 2 predefined entries are as follows:
To change the expression of UL, click in the Expression column field of UL in the Parameters tabular pane tab and select the desired option from the list. |
