Adding own translations to UI text strings

Across Prinect will encounter text strings and labels — among them, parameter names, names and types of materials and apperances, selection type entries -- do not translate when you change the user interface language. You can add your own translations to these strings and use these translations in your work. Then, when you switch Prinect's user interface language to the language for which you have supplied translations, Prinect will display the translated strings instead of the default ones.

If you plan to use Prinect in multiple languages, you can type multiple translations for the same string.

Each time you encounter a UI control with this icon Multilanguage Translations, you can click it and type your own translations for the respective text. See the types of UI controls that you can translate on your own.

  1. In Default text, type the text that you want to see each time any of the languages below is the UI language. Notice that the text you type appears for each language in the dialog box. This means that this text will appear each time when the operating system detects the Regional Locale language.
  2. (Optional) In Language specific overrides, type translations that Prinect will display when you do not want EngView to use the detected Regional Locale language. In this case, EngView will display the text that you type here. For this to work, make sure you select the check box in front of the language you are interesed in.
