Selections

The following review introduces you to the color codes and types of selections that you will be working with in Illustrator as a result of its integration with Prinect. The colors and selections are visual indications that guide you to the actions that you do in Illustrator's canvas and in the workspace.

Selection in the 3D Model area

When you select a panel in the 3D Model area:

• The selected panel is highlighted in pink (1).
• In the Prinect Articles panel, the drawing to which the selected panel belongs and all articles created for the selected drawing appear in dark blue. The article applied to the selected panel is highlighted by a dot in the Front/Rear cells (2, 3).
• In the Illustrator canvas, the periphery of the artboard that contains the artwork is outlined with a black line (4). The selected artwork is highlighted in grey (5).

Selecting an artboard in the canvas:

• Outlines the artboard in a black line. (1)
• The artboard in the Artboards panel (2). In the Artboards panel, the artboard name points to the drawing, the article's side (front, rear) and name.
• In the Prinect Articles panel, all the cells in which the corresponding artwork is used are highlighted in light blue (3).

NOTE: This type of selection has no effect on the 3D model view.

Selection in the PrinectArticles panel

When you select an article in the Prinect Articles panel, the program highlights the row in medium blue (1). You use this selection when you want to:

• Add an article.
• Delete an article.
• Move a row up or down.

IMPORTANT: (1) The medium blue selection does not depend on any other selections and stays in place until you de-select. The commands Add, Delete, Move Up and Move Down will apply to the article in the selected row. (2) Selecting a drawing and a row in the Prinect Articles panel does not select the article and artwork in the 3D model area, in the canvas or in the Artboards panel.
