Inserting files into open projects

When working with a project, you can insert external files into the project. Once inserted, these files become integral parts of the project.

NOTE: The procedure is identical with the one for creating a project from an imported file. The only difference is the starting point: While there you create an entirely new project by importing a file, here you have an active project into which you insert an external file and use all or part of its drawings for the purposes of the active project.

To insert a file into an open project

1. With your project open, on the File menu, click Insert.

The Insert dialog box appears.

3. From this step up to the completion of the file import into the active project, follow the procedure for creating a project from an imported file. Start from Step 8, and then continue to the end of the procedure.
