With parallel-to snapping you can set a parallel relation between the object you are currently drawing and a reference object. After you click the reference object, the current line or axis is snapped to the reference object, making the objects parallel.

note: Using parallel-to snapping on collinear lines sets a collinear relation, not a parallel one.
To use parallel-to snapping
.When the reference object is highlighted, the line or axis you are drawing is snapped so that the two lines or axes become parallel to each other.
