A bridge placement rule says how many bridges and of what length
will be placed on a object whose length falls within a certain interval.
Bridge placement rules are defined in the same way for all three types
of objects — lines, arc and circles.
When you create a bridge placement rule, you create a length interval.
In the table, a length interval is determined by two successive rows:
the upper one determines the lower threshold of the interval; the
lower one determines the upper threshold of the interval.
A length interval as
defined in the table. The upper row determines how many bridges of what
length will be placed on the objects whose length is between 13 mm and
50 mm. In this case, one 2-mm-long bridge will be placed on these objects.
When a new row is created, it appears above the currently selected
row and its Bridge length value is the half of the interval
that existed prior to the adding of the new row.
In the table, if you click outside a row, a new rule will appear
above the topmost rule. Its base length value will follow the method
described in the previous note.
In the table, the first row serves as the upper threshold of the
interval starting at zero (0) — its lower threshold is never visible
in the table. No bridges are placed on the objects that fall within
this interval.
IMPORTANT:
The Base Length value of the first row cannot be zero (0).
The last row determines an open-ended interval — the rule set in
it applies for all objects whose length is above the value set in
the Base length column.
In the table, the Up to column is read-only. Prinect
computes the value automatically.
In the table, rules are created for bridges with length:
(1) from zero to 12.99 mm — no bridges. (2) from 13.00 mm to 49.99 mm
— one 2-mm-long bridge. (3) from 50 mm to 99.99 mm — two 5-mm-long bridges.
(4) from 100 mm to 399.99 mm — three 5-mm-long bridges. (5) above 400
mm — four 5-mm-long bridges and an extra bridge per each 150-mm distance.
To create a rule
The following procedure concerns only how rules are created in
the table. It is part of the procedures for both creating
and editing a bridge template, but does not comprise them.
The procedure applies for the three types of objects — line, arc
and circle.
In the table, right-click, select a length row, and then click
Add new rule.
In the Base length column, click, and then enter a new value
for the base length. NOTE: It must be greater than the previous one
and lower than the next one.
In the Base bridges column, click, and then enter how many
bridges you want placed for a rule that falls within the set length
interval.
In the Bridge length column, click, and then enter a value
for how long you want the bridges in the interval to be.
In the Extra bridge at column, click, and then enter additional
length at which you want an extra bridge placed.
Select the placement pattern in which you want the bridges distributed
along the rule: 1–1–1 or 1–2–1.
