Integration with Illustrator

Scope of the integration

Prinect is integrated with Illustrator. This means that:

• In Illustrator, you can open Prinect files, and then add complex artwork to drawings, edit parameters and view 3D representations.
• In Illustrator, you can work on a drawing, and then switch to Prinect to set styles and do further 2D editing. You can define a 3D representation of the drawing, and then switch back to Illustrator to proceed with doing further art editing.
• In Prinect, the work on a drawing can be continued in Illustrator. You just save the drawing, and then open it in Illustrator. You can then add artwork that is either too cumbersome or impossible to add in Prinect.

Technical notes

For the integration to work, both Prinect and Illustrator CS6 or CC must be installed on your system. Once the two programs are installed, the integration is automatic.

When you open an EngViewa Prinect drawing in Illustrator, Prinect starts automatically; you can see its icon in the notification area.
