Detecting the dependency between parameters and dimensions

In process of working with resizable templates, it is very important to quickly locate in the Parameters tab (1) the parameter that controls certain dimension or (2) the parameters that are linked to certain component.

To follow this connection

  1. In the Parameters tabular area, right-click, and then check Trace Object Selection.
  1. In the graphical area, select a dimenson or an entire component. Prinect highligts the parameters linked to the selection.

Dependency levels

The levels of dependency visualize how a dimension depends on the parameters. There are three levels of dependency — first (marked with I), second (marked with II) and third (marked with III).

Consider an example:

The selected dimension depends directly on the parameter HO1. This is first-level dependency.

On its part, HO1 depends on PH, this is a second-level dependency for the dimension. Additionally, PH depends on the parameters CellH and NyCells, this is third-level dependency for the selected dimension.

NOTE: The paramaters that relate to the selection appear in the Parameters tab even if the group they belong to has not been made visible in advance:

Detecting parameter dependences

In process of working with resizable designs, it is also important to know what other parameters will change as a result of modifying a respective parameter.
