L’équipe EngView est ravie d’annoncer un nouveau partenariat avec le British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT). Cet établissement canadien intègre EngView Package & Display Designer à son programme d’études, offrant ainsi aux étudiants une expérience pratique avec un logiciel de pointe, développé spécifiquement pour la conception et la production d’emballages et de présentoirs en point de vente (PLV). Chez EngView, partager nos connaissances et notre expertise tout en encourageant l’innovation a toujours été au cœur de notre mission. Nous nous engageons à soutenir les institutions éducatives dans le monde entier en leur faisant don de notre logiciel. Cette initiative permet aux étudiants de travailler avec les dernières technologies, les préparant ainsi à des carrières dans l’industrie de l’emballage en pleine croissance. Boriana Stoimenova, responsable packaging chez EngView, a exprimé son enthousiasme concernant ce partenariat: « Nous sommes heureux de collaborer avec le British Columbia Institute of Technology et d’offrir aux étudiants notre logiciel de conception d’emballages. Ce partenariat améliorera non seulement leurs compétences techniques, mais leur fournira également les outils pour exprimer pleinement leur créativité et concrétiser leurs idées innovantes. » BCIT déploie EngView Package & Display Designer dans le cadre du programme de diplôme en Communications Graphiques (GCOM). Ce programme de deux ans prépare les étudiants à une large gamme de postes dans les secteurs de l’impression commerciale et de l’emballage. Les étudiants suivent des cours couvrant chaque étape du processus de fabrication, de la préparation de graphismes de haute qualité jusqu’à l’impression et la finition finale. Récemment, le programme a subi une refonte majeure avec un accent renforcé sur l’emballage haut de gamme, domaine dans lequel EngView intervient. Les étudiants découvrent EngView dès le début de leur deuxième année, dans un cours dédié à la conception structurelle d’emballages. Ils doivent préparer des lignes de découpe pour différents styles d’emballages en utilisant la bibliothèque de conception paramétrique d’EngView, les composants composés Synergy, ainsi que les fonctionnalités de modélisation 3D. Une fois leurs créations terminées, les fichiers sont envoyés à une table de découpe Summa pour produire des prototypes, vérifiant ainsi leur ajustement et fonctionnalité. Forts de ces compétences de base, les étudiants sont ensuite challengés pour concevoir divers emballages et présentoirs PLV personnalisés à l’aide des outils CAD étendus de la plateforme EngView tout au long de leur deuxième année. Cam Rouse, enseignant en Communications Graphiques au BCIT, a expliqué les raisons de ce choix : « Avec l’introduction du cours de conception structurelle d’emballages, nous cherchions un logiciel capable de montrer toute l’étendue des possibilités du design packaging moderne. Nous recherchions un outil offrant dessin CAD, modélisation 3D, intégration avec Adobe Illustrator, et un haut niveau d’automatisation. EngView remplissait tous ces critères, ce qui a rendu notre décision très facile, d’autant plus qu’ils ont généreusement fait don de licences éducatives à notre institution. » Rouse ajoute : « Nous sommes ravis de collaborer avec Kris et toute l’équipe EngView — ils ont toujours été très disponibles et réactifs à nos questions et besoins. Le logiciel est performant et facile à utiliser, et nos étudiants adorent travailler avec. "Once again, drupa - the No. 1 event for printing and packaging technologies - proved to be the place for success." This statement was shared by many in the packaging and printing industry after attending this huge, busy and vibrant event, held in Dusseldorf, Germany, from May 28 to June 7. Our EngView team flew in from around the globe, with representatives from the USA, Latin America, Germany, and our home base in Bulgaria. The anticipation was high, as it had been eight years since the last drupa. Despite only 15 of us being present in Dusseldorf, the entire EngView team played a vital role in our preparation, from delivering new software versions and creating demo scenarios to managing logistics and even folding giveaways :) . Our booth featured a unique knowledge tree symbolizing our 25 years of experience in the packaging industry. This tree represented our commitment to learning and growing alongside our customers, integrating their insights and our expertise into EngView software with cutting-edge technology and the minds of brilliant mathematicians. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the talented individuals who helped us design and construct our sustainable booth: Maximilian Hansen from Nordwerk Design brought our tree concept to life. Einar Ek from Re-board Technology supplied the lightweight, sustainable 16mm premium material. We used Re-board for all booth furniture, including the front desk, box and poppy displays, back walls, storage room, and shelves. Everything was made from fully recyclable paperboard, minimizing environmental impact. Daniеl van Vliet from Van Vliet Printing BV expertly printed and cut the Re-board. Our booth attracted numerous visitors eager to learn more about EngView software for the design and production of packaging and POP displays. We reconnected with many partners during the show, including machine producers, software providers, and web-to-print solutions. At drupa 2024, we had the opportunity to meet professors from esteemed educational institutions we currently partner with, such as the University of Ljubljana in Slovenia, Vrij Instituut voor Secundair Onderwijs (VISO) in Belgium, the University of Novi Sad in Serbia, and Marmara University in Turkey, and those we are soon to donate our software to. We believe that sharing our packaging knowledge with the next generation of talented designers is crucial for the future of our industry. Throughout the 11 days of the show, we continuously demonstrated EngView software at our booth. Additionally, every day at 14:30, Kris Hanchette from our team gave live demos at Hybrid Software's booth, showcasing the cutting-edge EngView packaging software and its seamless integration with HYBRID Software. Here are the new features we demonstrated at drupa 2024: Art3D - New Solution for Easier Graphic Design of Boxes EngView Art3D is designed to help graphic designers create packaging artwork more easily. Integrated with Adobe Illustrator, Art3D allows designers to turn any vector drawing into a 3D structure. This tool is ideal for freelance designers without CAD software experience, enabling them to create 3D models from dielines downloaded from the internet or provided by end customers. Art3D works with any vector format, and designers can also use EngView's library of thousands of ready-to-use parametric templates. EngView Package & Display Designer 2024 - Online, Augmented, Intelligent With our continuous release policy, we release new versions every few months, ensuring customers receive the latest features, usability enhancements, and bug fixes promptly. We are committed to staying at the forefront of technology, incorporating the latest advancements to offer a competitive advantage. Here are the most recent improvements in EngView packaging software demonstrated at drupa: Library Search by Application: All packaging and display templates are now in a single online space. Users can search the library index by code, template name, or application type, such as chocolate, pizza, or toothpaste box. Nesting and Layout Optimizations: New features include nesting on rolled material and tracking leftover material for subsequent jobs. Sheet sizes are now directly visible on the screen. Drafting: Designers can duplicate 2D drawings together with the 3D visualizations and folding sequences, saving time in creating 3D models and animations anew after edits.  Video Export of 3D Animation: Export 3D model animations as .mp4 files for use on websites or social media, including mobile devices. EngView Shared Space - Augmented Reality Feature: This feature allows customers to see 3D mock-ups in real environments using their mobile phone or tablet camera. They can see how the packaging or display will look in the store. Palletization (Beta Version): Our new palletization module is simple and easy to use. While still in beta, it received many positive reviews from those who experienced the demo at drupa2024. With the latest release of EngView Package & Display Designer, we continue our mission to help structural and graphic designers turn their ideas into reality!
