Introduction to stripping dies design

About stripping dies

With EngView you can generate the tools — male and female stripping dies, and a front stripper — that push the waste material off the dieboard so that only the usable, non-waste, material remains.

Stripping dies generation

The generation of stripping dies has the following steps:

  1. From a layout drawing, die contours are defined which determine which areas of the dieboard are usable and which will become waste.
  2. Stripping dies and front stripper generation. The mangle and the female stripping dies can be generated independently. Also, the front stripper can be generated independently of the stripping dies.

The stripping dies user interface

The user interface tools that assist the creation and editing of stripping dies are grouped in the Diemaking tab.

Stripping Die Components Opens, in the contextual edit bar above the graphical area, a list with stripping elements that can be placed in the male and the female stripping dies. Depending on whether you are in the male or the female stripping die, different sets of components are available.

You can create your own components and load them into your installation. Components for the male stripping dies are located in the \..\\EngViewWork7\Settings\Features\StripPins folder; those for the female stripping die in the \...\\EngViewWork7\Settings\Features\StripClips folder.
