Generating male, female stripping dies

The stripping dies are generated after the definition of the die contours.

To generate the male and female dies

  1. In the die contours drawing, on the Diemaking toolbar, click Generate Stripping Dies .

The Stripping Dies Generation Options dialog box appears.

Preset If you have settings presets, in the drop-down list, select the preset that you need. To save a preset, edit the settings below as you needs require, and then click the Plus button . The preset is saved and can be selected from the drop-down list. To delete a preset, select it, and then click the Remove button .

Male & Female Stripping Die Options Sets the behavior of the male and the female stripping dies.

Generate Male Generates a male stripping die. In Offset, the technological offset outside the contour is set. Must not exceed 250 mm.*

Generate Female generates a female stripping die. In Offset, the technological offset inside the contour is set. Must not exceed 250 mm.*

Waste stripping Sets which waste on the board should be removed.

Strip all waste Removes all the waste on the dieboard.

Strip only outside waste Removes only the waste that is outside the die contours.

Strip only inside waste Removes only the waste that is inside the die contours.

Line Styles Sets styles for the lines of the contours of the male and female boards, as well as positioning markers, rule channels and piece labels (See later in the topic.)

Generate upper front stripper Enables the entry of settings for the height of the upper front stripper.

Stripper height Sets the height of the front stripper tool. Must not exceed 500 mm.*

Generate lower front stripper Enables the entry for the height of the lower front stripper.

Stripper height Sets the height of the front stripper tool. Must not exceed 500 mm.*

Cutting knife offset Sets an offset from the stripping contour. This offset defines the front waste contour area. Must not exceed 250 mm.*

  1. To generate male and female stripping dies, select the respective check boxes — Generate Male and/or Generate Female.
  2. (Optional) To edit the detailed settings for the male and female boards, click More.

The More Male & Female Generation Options dialog box appears.

Male Die Options Override male holes offset Sets an offset for the internal holes. It overrides the one set globally, in Generate Male (in the previous dialog box).

Override stripping knives offset Sets an offset along the stripping knives. It overrides the one set globally, in Generate Male (in the previous dialog box).

Override horizontal sheet offset Sets an offset along the sheet's horizontal sides.

Override vertical sheet offset Sets an offset along the sheet's vertical sides.

Label pieces Places small labels that enumerate the locations where the stripping elements (pieces) will be positioned. These labels will later be transferred to the female die. Learn more about object style transfers.

Put positioning markers Inserts right-angle markers that indicate the locations where the stripping elements will be positioned.

Detect and replace simple hole shapes Detects simple shapes and automatically generates stripping objects. To edit the options, click Settings, and then, in the Male Board Stripper Hole Processing Options dialog box, edit the settings for the male board stripper. Learn more about how to edit these settings.

Male dieboard Displays the dieboard that will be used for the male board. NOTE: To edit the dieboard settings, click Edit, and then, in the dialog box that appears, edit the dieboard properties.

Female Die Options

Handle offset from sheet Sets an offset on either side of the handle.

Use bottom handle margin Sets an offset between the die's lower area (the handle) and the first rule.

Override females holes offset Allows different offsets for the holes in the female die. To set these offsets, in Offset enter the respective values.

Stripping knives extensions In the female stripping die, extending elements are placed that meet the stripping knives in the cutting die.

All Places stripping knife extensions to all horizontal stripping knives positions.

Knife shape Places a specially designed element (tis is a resizable component).

NOTE: To add a new one, click the browse button , and then in the dialog box that appears, choose a new template.

Override Top Allows the setting of a different shape for the top horizontal stripping knife extension.

Top only Adds stripping knife extensions only to the topmost horizontal stripping knives

Knife shape Places a specially designed element (this is resizable component). NOTE: To add a new one, click the browse button , and then in the dialog box that appears, choose a new template.

Put female die centerline Sets the width and height of the centerline.

Female dieboard Displays the currently used die.

NOTE: To edit the dieboard settings, click Edit, and then, in the dialog box, edit the dieboard properties.

  1. (Optional) To set for the male board stripper, click Line Styles.

The Stripping Line Styles dialog box appears.

Contour Styles Defines the contour styles of the male and female die stripping areas.

NOTE: This takes into account a set of rules (style convention) for the transfer of objects between the male and female stripping dies. For an example of how these rules are applied in the transferring of objects, see Stripping lateral waste.

Male board contour Sets the contour style of the stripping areas on the male board.

Override male inner holes When the check box is selected, the inner holes in the male stripping dies will be in a style that is different from the one set in Male board contour. To set the different style, click the browse button .

Female board contour Sets the contour style of the stripping areas on the female board.

Override inner holes When the check box is selected, the inner holes in the male stripping dies will be in a style that is different from the one set in Female board contour. To set the different style, click the browse button .

Override handle When the check box is selected, the style of the handle will be different that the one set in Female board contour. To set a different style, click the browse button .

Male Board Object Style

Positioning markers In the stripping areas, sets the style for the edge markers as well as for the piece labels that will be engraved on the male board.

Rules Sets the style of the automatically generated stripping objects. Learn more about how to manage the automatic generation.

Piece labels Sets the style for the piece labels that would be transferred to the female stripping die when it is being cut.

NOTE: The piece label transfer depends on how the style has been set.
