Using styles in object transfer in stripping dies

About object transfer

When stripping dies are being designed, often there is a number of stripping elements that consists of complementary parts mounted on both dies. To guarantee precision in the manufacturing of these elements, an automatic transfer mechanism is implemented that ensures that the elements' matching parts on the male and female dies fit smoothly. In EngView , this transfer mechanism is determined by a set of rules (line style convention) on the strength of which:

• All drawing objects in the male stripping die to which the FemaleStrippingDie style is assigned are automatically transferred to the female stripping die when it is being cut.
• All drawing objects in the female stripping die to which the MaleStrippingDie style is assigned are automatically transferred to the male stripping die when it is being cut.

NOTE: The rules apply also for objects to which styles inherited from the MaleStrippingDie and FemaleStrippingDie are assigned.

Components to which the line style convention is applied

By default, EngView installs a set of stripping elements to which the line style convention is applied. These are parametric components which can be created and modified with EngView Synergy.

• Objects positioned on the female stripping die: Strip Clips® (elements which conform to the Strip Clip® System of German company Vossen Profitec GmbH) and Dies Bolt Holes (openings on both stripping dies in which bolts are screwed for fastening the two dies during transportation or when they are in storage).
• Objects positioned on the male stripping die: Male lifters (Small plastic chunks for elevating the wooden blocks that strip lateral waste.) and strip pins.

NOTE: Users can add custom elements of their own to this set of stripping elements. By default, the components for female stripping dies are installed in \\EngViewWork7\Settings\Features\StripClips; those for male stripping dies in \\EngViewWork7\Settings\Features\StripPins.
