Chase holes are small openings into the dieboard which ensure that it is firmly positioned on the diecutting machine.
When chase holes are used in a dieboard, EngView loads a chase holes template — a grid in which the chase holes are aligned according to the specifics of the diecutting machine. The chase holes template is created in advance, and the pattern in which the chase holes are arranged in it matches the work area of the diecutting machine. Generally, only a portion of the chase holes from the template is used when a dieboard is being positioned on the diecutting machine.
Chase holes. The ones with offsets are selected to be used. They are in the same style as the dieboard.
NOTE: To avoid interference with the cutting rules, it is important that the chase holes are selected to be at a distance from the cutting rules.
A chase holes template is an EngView drawing (an .evd drawing) in which the chase holes are drawn. The chase holes templates that are installed by default are located in \\ProgramData\EngView\Package Designer\SharedSettings\TEMPLATES\ChaseHoles\
The selection which chase holes from a chase holes template will be used in a particular dieboard can be done manually (by using the mouse to select the ones you need and dismissing the rest) or automatically.
