Student Packaging Design Projects from the University of Banja Luka
We are happy to present the innovative packaging design projects created by the talented students from the University of Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Under the guidance of Assoc. Professor Mladen Stančić, Ph.D., Vice Dean for Academic Affairs and Head of the Department of Graphic Engineering, students in the Faculty of Technology’s Graphic Engineering program were given a unique opportunity to push the boundaries of packaging design with a real-business project. Last semester, the students undertook the challenge to redesign the packaging for the confectionery brand Kraš, a Croatian company that is a leader in the Western Balkans for its high-quality chocolates, biscuits, and wafers. This project provided students with valuable industry experience while allowing them to harness the full potential of EngView Package & Display Designer software. EngView’s advanced tools enabled these students to bring their creative concepts to life through precision and innovation. The students’ projects reflect their growing skills and creative vision. We’re proud to showcase their hard work and encourage them to Dream, Create, and Succeed as they continue to explore their talents. We’re thrilled to welcome Hochschule München, University of Applied Sciences, to our Educational Partners Program! At EngView, we’re passionate about sharing our expertise and innovations with future leaders in the print and packaging industry, and this partnership is a wonderful way to do just that. By donating our cutting-edge packaging design software, we’re helping students worldwide gain access to the latest technology, inspiring them to imagine what more they can achieve. Just last week, our colleague, Christian Theiss had the pleasure of conducting a hands-on training session for Prof. Dr. Ulrich Moosheimer, Professor of Print, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation, along with his students. This interactive session at Hochschule München marked the beginning of an exciting integration of EngView Package & Display Designer into their curriculum. With this addition, students will gain valuable, practical experience that bridges the gap between academic knowledge and real-world industry applications. This collaboration also highlights Hochschule München’s commitment to preparing students for global careers. Every year, over 2,500 international students and researchers join its dynamic community, and around 80 of them will now get the chance to work with EngView software—broadening their perspectives and deepening their knowledge. As one of Germany’s top institutions, located in a city known for its blend of rich history and tech-forward innovation, Hochschule München provides a unique educational environment. We’re truly honoured to support these students as they embark on their journeys into the print and packaging industry, equipping them with the skills and tools they’ll need to make an impact. Through our Educational Partners Program, we aim to inspire students to think big and prepare for careers that push the boundaries of what’s possible. We can’t wait to see the creativity and innovation that Hochschule München students bring to the world of print and packaging design. If you are a school or a university that teaches packaging design as part of your curriculum, you can contact us to become our educational partner here.Leia MaisEngView unveils new UI optimizations and Shared Space enhancements in latest 2024 release
EngView is excited to announce the release of version 2024, which features key UI optimizations, smart new features, and improvements in the collaboration platform EngView Shared Space. These improvements are all driven by a single goal — to help packaging professionals work smarter, not harder. Display of Alternative Units For designers who work with both metric and imperial measurements, we’ve introduced the ability to display dimensions in multiple units simultaneously. Users now have full control over the dimension display in both drafting and 3D views. You can easily switch between millimeters, inches, centimeters, and other units, or opt to display alternative units directly below the dimension line for quick reference. Additionally, users can now select multiple dimension lines in 3D models. New ECMA Designs We have added new parametric templates to the ECMA section of the EngView Library of Packaging Templates. Enhanced Component Design Workflow While drafting parametric components, EngView now offers greater customization for setting relationships between objects. The new options allow designers to maintain continuous relation settings or turn off the mode after each individual relation is defined. Usability Enhancements To help designers work more efficiently, we’ve reorganized the UI for a more intuitive experience. The revamped Preferences menu (formerly called Options) now includes expanded settings for key tasks like material management, drafting colour selection, and CAM operations. New additions include: Catalog management for materials on rolls Streamlined materials and process management Enhanced parameter template settings Simplified CAM operation configurations Zoom and fit commands are now conveniently grouped in both the View menu and context menus. We’ve also added a new "Front Side" command, accessible via the View menu, that makes it easier to switch between the front and rear views of a drawing with a single click. Shared Space Enhancements EngView Shared Space, our collaboration platform for sharing 3D models, has received several exciting upgrades. The new list view helps users filter and search designs with ease. We’ve also improved the animation bar, allowing users to scroll smoothly by dragging and clicking through different animation steps and phases. The zoom function has been refined to improve user experience, now zooming in the direction of your mouse click rather than just the centre of the screen. All these enhancements in the October release reflect our ongoing commitment to improving the user experience and providing designers with the tools they need to work faster and smarter.Leia MaisLatest EngView Package & Display Designer Release with New Features for Enhanced Usability
At EngView, we believe that the tools you wield empower your creativity, enhancing not only your efficiency but the way you bring ideas to life. With this vision guiding us, we’re excited to announce the latest release of EngView Package & Display Designer. With our commitment to a continuous delivery model, we release a new version of our packaging software every couple of months. This approach ensures our customers receive the latest technological advancements as soon as they are developed and tested. The latest release introduces several usability enhancements and bug fixes aimed at improving your design experience. Here are some of the standout features in this version: Search in Tool Options Every customer has unique production capabilities and ways of using our software. That's why we offer a wide range of customization options—whether it's switching between metric and imperial units, choosing a light or dark theme, or configuring custom line styles. In this release, we've reorganized all customization options into a more intuitive tree structure, making it easier to find the settings you need. You can even search directly within Tool Options to save time. Master Canvas – Streamlined One-Up Rearrangement When working in Master Canvas, designers now have the ability to quickly rearrange one-ups during the design process, creating a cleaner, more organized workspace. This helps ensure easier adjustments and resizing of one-ups, allowing for a smoother design experience. Cost Model Usability Improvement To prevent accidental loss of work, we’ve introduced warnings for unsaved data. Now, if a designer mistakenly presses the escape button, they’ll be alerted, reducing the chances of losing important changes. Merge Overlapping Die-Lines in the Layout For users working in Adobe Illustrator with the Step and Repeat functionality, we’ve added an option to merge overlapping die-lines. This optimization ensures that the PDFs sent to the plotter are prepared for efficient cutting. While this feature is ideal for users without our CAM module, those with the module will have additional path optimization features available. We are proud to continuously evolve EngView to meet your needs, and we believe these new features will make your design process smoother and more efficient. Upgrade today to take full advantage of the new tools and stay ahead in packaging design! If you are a subscriber or have a Maintenance Agreement, download the latest version from the website.
